Decoupage dosochki with Paris
Such a chopping board decorated using decoupage technique can be a wonderful decoration of the kitchen interior, and it can also serve in its intended purpose - for cutting products. On the one hand, the board is decorated with a decoupage napkin and varnished, and on the other hand, it remains clean and usable. So, what materials are needed to make such a board? 1. Wooden blank. 2. Decoupage napkin (or decoupage card). 3. Soil. 4. Acrylic paints. 5. Brushes, scissors, sponge (sponge), a ceramic plate or palette to mix paint. 6. PVA glue (or special decoupage glue). 7. 3D potch (or transparent volumetric gel contour). 8. Acrylic lacquer (or finishing lacquer for decoupage). First stage.
First of all, you need to prime our workpiece so that the paint and napkin better lie on the surface and the finished product lasts longer. You need to use white primer for wood and cardboard. If you do not have a primer, the blank can be painted with white acrylic paint so that wood does not shine through the napkin. It is possible to cover preparation with soil or paint with any synthetic brush. When the entire front side of the workpiece is covered with soil, leave it until it finally dries.
Now you can start applying a decoupage napkin. To do this, cut out a suitable size motif and separate the 2 lower layers from it, leaving only the upper thin layer with the image.
To make the napkin even , free of air bubbles and wrinkles, it can be applied to the workpiece with ordinary water. We drip some water into the center of the napkin and begin to move with a wet brush from the center to the edges, ensuring that the napkin lies flat on the board.
If wrinkles or air bubbles still form, you can gently lift the napkin by pulling on the dry edge and smooth it again with a brush.Going to the edges of the napkin, just gently "glue" them with water one by one.
After that you can proceed to the real gluing of the napkin. Take the decoupage glue or PVA glue (it can be slightly diluted with water) and carefully applied over a wet napkin. We are waiting for drying. The third stage.
As the napkin does not occupy the entire surface of the blank, free areas also need to be zadekorirovat. To do this, mix on the back of a ceramic plate or on the palette acrylic paint of the desired color. In this case, a light gray color obtained by mixing white and black ink was used. We paint the top part of the topcoat with paint and carefully paint the side panels. To create the effect of a smooth transition of the paint into the napkin and hide its borders, use the usual foam rubber sponge. We dip the sponge in gray paint and pass it along the edge of the napkin with “choking” movements. Also, to further decorate the blank, again with a sponge and silver acrylic paint you can walk along the entire edge of the board. The smallest silver sparkles will give the product a more “elegant” look.
The fourth stage. When the workpiece is completely dry, take a 3D-PTSH or transparent volumetric contour and circle them objects in the image that you want to visually highlight. In this case, the Eiffel Tower and the words “Paris” were highlighted.
After drying, the 3D pot becomes transparent and creates a three-dimensional effect. It dries long enough, because it is applied in a thick layer. Therefore, the blank can be safely left overnight, and the next day can be covered in 2-4 layers with acrylic or finishing lacquer for decoupage. Do not regret the lacquer, if you are going to use the plank in the future for cutting products, because it will have to be washed. It is better to protect the work with four layers of varnish. If you plan to use the dosochka just to decorate the kitchen, you can limit yourself to two layers. Each layer is dried for 20-30 minutes, finally the varnish dries per day. Well, that's all, dosochka with Paris is ready! Now she can decorate your kitchen and please the eye.
