  • The brass product can be processed with a composition made from 30 grams of ammonia, half a glass of cool water and two tablespoons of tooth powder (you can also use toothpaste, but only white). Apply the prepared mixture to the sponge and rub the entire surface of the samovar (both external and internal) well.
  • Aluminum is well cleaned with an agent consisting of one teaspoon of ammonia, three teaspoons of borax, and two glasses of warm water. It is good to rub this mixture inside and out, so that it becomes clean.
  • If you own an expensive gilded samovar, then it should be cleaned carefully. A mixture of one egg white and a tablespoon of sodium hypochlorite solution (8%) will do.
  • To clean the copper samovar, you can use a mixture prepared from a tablespoon of salt (finely ground), a tablespoon of flour, as well as two tablespoons of vinegar (9%).The finished slurry must be applied to the surface with a sponge, left for five to ten minutes, and then removed with a damp cloth or a clean sponge.
  • An ordinary lemon can help to get rid of scale. Just cut off the slab and rub it with the dirty areas. You can also squeeze the juice and treat them to the surface. If there is no lemon, use citric acid. In a glass of warm water, dissolve one or two tablespoons (depending on the degree of pollution), soak a cloth in the solution and wipe the samovar with it.
  • You can use the most common vinegar, but not concentrated, and 5-10%. Dampen it with a cotton pad, a piece of cloth or a sponge and rub the surface well until it becomes shiny and clean. If the pollution is strong, then pour boiling water into the samovar and add vinegar (half a glass for every 500 ml of water). In this condition, leave the product overnight, and wash it well.
  • You can buy a specialized anti-scale agent, but not for a washing machine or a dishwasher, but for a kettle.
  • An ordinary raw potato will help to cope with a small touch. Just rub the entire surface with it, and after half an hour, remove the residue with a damp cloth.You can also apply a slurry of grated potatoes overnight. Instead of such a mashed potatoes you can use and potato cleaning.
  • A copper samovar can be completely immersed in boiling water with soda ash dissolved in it (approximately two tablespoons for every 500 milliliters of water). After half an hour, remove the product and wipe it well with a soft cloth. It should shine again.
  • Brass samovar easy to clean oxalic acid. In one liter of water you need to dissolve one or two tablespoons of such funds. Spread the prepared liquid with a cloth or sponge over the surface. After an hour, thoroughly wash the samovar.
  • Surprisingly, but perfectly cope with the touch of so beloved by many "Coca-Cola." Just pour it into the samovar and put it on the fire for fifteen minutes. Cool the product and rinse thoroughly.


Some useful tips for effective and safe cleaning of the samovar at home:

  1. It is undesirable to use aggressive abrasive compounds for cleaning a samovar, such as sand, salt, brick dust and so on. They are likely to clean the product well, but will certainly leave scratches on it.
  2. For the procedure, use either a very soft sponge or washcloth, or flannel or terry cloth. Coarse material may scratch the surface.

  6. If you often use a samovar, then wash it after each tea drinking.
  7. After each use, drain the water.
